Abstract:

Recently, TESLA Test Facility (TTF) of DESY was upgraded to its second phase (TTF2) by installing many new components such as a new RF gun, high gradient superconducting accelerating modules, two bunch compressors, an S-band deflecting cavity, and a 30 m long undulator. In February 2004, we started its commissioning, and finished its injector commissioning on June 6th.
During this seminar, TTF2 status, plans, and its recent commissioning results will be introduced. Then TTF2 photoinjector, microbunching instability due to coherent synchrotron radiation and longitudinal space charge force in TTF2 and European XFEL bunch compressors will be reported.
