CERN - European Organization for Nuclear Research

Minutes of the CLIC Meeting - 23 September 2005

Agenda:
Sensors and Vibration Measurements, Simulation Experience
Speaker:
Benoit Bolzon, Nicolas Geffroy

  Abstract:

The first talk will address the performances of a set of sensors used at LAPP and the measurements performed with different systems. The limitations due to sensor technologies will also be discussed as well as the consequences for CLIC and ILC.

The second talk will show how we can build a 'vibration' model for a simple beam or a more complex object, like a FF quadrupole. This model should also include the active system, measurements, feedback loop and action. Are these models reliable? Can we use them to assist us on the mechanical stabilization? These are few of the questions we are asking ourselves.
