Minutes of the CLIC Meeting - 10 February 2006

Agenda:
Results from CTF3 Beam Operation and Commissioning in 2005
Speakers:
R. Corsini, S. Döbert, C. Welsch

Abstract

Significant progress has been made in CTF3 during 2005. After some initial difficulties, beam operation for 30 GHz production has reached the stage of routine practice. Promising results have been obtained as well in the commissioning of the newly installed delay loop and sub-harmonic bunching system, with the first proof of bunch phase coding and beam recombination. The main results as well as some relevant beam dynamics and beam diagnostics issues are presented and discussed.

After recapitulating the status of 2004, Roberto gave an overview of the operation in both running periods of 2005. He showed in particular the commissioning of the delay loop and the obtained results of the bunch recombination.

Steffen presented the operation in the PETS mode, stability studies and wall current monitor measurements of the 1.5 GHz bunched beam.
