Minutes of the CLIC Meeting - 6 October 2006

Agenda:
Status of the CLIC Bunch Compressor work at PSI
Speaker:
Frank Stulle / PSI

Abstract

The first part of the talk describes the work which was done for the final CLIC main beam bunch compressor. This bunch compressor will compress the electron bunches from a length of 0.250mm to a length of 0.030mm. Results of computer simulations of the effect of coherent synchrotron radiation are presented. In parameter scans two chicane layouts were found which preserve the emittance within the specifications.

In the second part of the talk a report on the final CLIC drive beam bunch compressor including turn around loop and phase feed-forward will be shown. Each section is described and possible layouts of the two required chicanes and a lattice for the turn around loop are given. Results of beam dynamics simulations including the effect of coherent synchrotron radiation are presented.
