Minutes of the CLIC Meeting - 13 October 2006

Agenda:
Double way interface between HFSS and ANSYS
Speaker:
Grzegorz Zelek / Cracow University of Technology  and TS-MME

Abstract

One of the problems associated with a design of accelerating cavities is RF heating. The problem is especially important because due to the thermal expansion of metal, the geometry of the cavity changes, what has influence on the electromagnetic parameters of the cavity. A main issue of the presentation is the conception and current state of development of the interface between HFSS, product of ANSOFT company used widely for electromagnetic analyses and ANSYS, one of the most famous FE code, used this time for analyses of thermo-mechanical problems.
