Minutes of the CLIC Meeting - 4 May 2007

Agenda:
Main Linac Design and Alignment
Speaker:
Daniel Schulte

Abstract

The beam stability in the main linac is one of the main drivers of the accelerating structure design. It depends critically on the transport optics design, which will be discussed for the new CLIC parameters. Preservation of the beam quality during the transport is a major challenge and calls for very precise pre-alignment of the beam line components. In addition, the use of complex beam-based alignment and tuning procedures is essential to achieve the performance goal. The procedures and their performance will be discussed.
