Minutes of the CLIC Meeting - 8 June 2007

Agenda:
Two Beam Module Design
Speaker:
Germana Riddone

Abstract

The CLIC module, about 2 m long, is composed of the drive beam and the main beam modules. Considering 26 sectors per linac and knowing that each sector is about 800 m long, we count more than 10000 modules per linac. The drive beam module comprises 4 decelerating structures and two quadrupoles forming a FODO cell. Each decelerating structure powers two accelerating structures. Since the beam has to be focused, some accelerating structures are removed at regular intervals to liberate space for a quadrupole of a FODO lattice.
The layout of the standard and special modules is presented as well as the general system integration. Preliminary values on pre-alignment and beam-based alignment tolerances are also given. The last part of the presentation will be then dedicated to the beam layout configuration.
