Minutes of the CLIC Meeting - 17 August 2007

Agenda:
Alignment of the CLIC Beam Delivery System
Speaker:
Maxim Korostelev

Abstract

The CLIC beam delivery system (BDS) has very low tolerances to alignment errors. Even small transverse misalignments of 1-5 um randomly assigned to the BDS quadrupoles can result in luminosity loss. Sophisticated correction schemes based on movement of the BDS quadrupoles have been developed. In order to vary collision parameters of a beam in the interaction point a set of tuning knobs has been also found.
