Main Results of the Test of the 30CNSD1P2CU Structure

The high power test of the 30CNSD1P2CU structure was finished a few weeks ago. The results of the measurements and its relative performance respect to other Cu structures will be discussed.

First Results on RF- Breakdown Measurements

First results of RF-breakdown measurements will be presented, this includes imaging of the breakdown event and comparison of image data with control system data and possible correlations with ion currents.

Positive Ion Current -  Hot Coulomb Explosions?
RF-breakdowns in accelerating structures have been observed to be accompanied by a fast burst of negative particles (electrons, ns scale), and a slower burst of positive particles (possible ions, us scale). One possible source of the slow ion burst is a hot coulomb explosion. A theory which predicts the arrival time spectrum of particles from such an event has been derived. Previously taken data from CTF have been fitted to this theory. Current and future measurements of the ions are discussed.
